Tips for Painting Art on a Wall

Last night I took a leap of faith in my artistic talent. I decided to go ahead to paint my wall a picture of my mother's 'rumah kampung' (village's house). It is definitely something new, working on a much bigger space; using a new media; without much knowledge of mixing paint to form various colours.

Here are some tips I've come up with:

  • Pre-mix a colour that you use a lot in large amount(suffice for the whole project)
  • You could add tints and shades to the colour without worrying how to mix the colours again
  • Charcoal is easy for rough lines on the wall but proves to be a bug when it mixes with the paint when I start applying paint
  • Work in stages (i tried to go for the whole look before enough preparation)

I am still in the process of painting it. Here's what happened
